Dr.
Dysart is board certified in orthopaedic surgery. He
is fellowship trained in Hip and Knee Joint Replacement
Surgery and in Hip and Knee Reconstructive Surgery.
His major areas of interest are in hip and knee surgery.
Dr. Dysart graduated from the Medical College of Georgia
and completed his orthopaedic residency training at
Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
He moved to Boston, Massachusetts to do a one year
fellowship in Knee and Hip Joint Replacement Surgery
at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a teaching hospital
of Harvard Medical School. The fellowship was under
the direction of Clement Sledge, MD, Harvard Professor
of Orthopaedic Surgery.
After the completion of fellowship training, Dr. Dysart
joined the orthopaedic staff of Pinnacle Orthopaedics,
formerly Marietta Orthopaedics, in 1991 and now practices
primarily at WellStar Kennestone Hospital. It is of
interest to note that Dr. Paul Payne, a practicing
physician at Pinnacle Orthopaedics, performed the first
joint replacement operation in Marietta at Kennestone
Hospital.
Dr. Dysart is actively involved in the practice of
Hip and Knee Surgery, performing primary and difficult
revision surgical procedures. He is a member of the
American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American
Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Orthopaedic
Research Society, the Society of Computer Assisted
Orthopaedic Surgery, the American Society of Sports
Medicine and the Atlanta Orthopaedic Society.
In addition to hip and knee replacement and revision
surgery, his interests also include partial knee replacement
and cartilage surgery as well as newer procedures such
as unispacer replacement surgery, cartilage transplantation
and computer assisted orthopaedic surgery.
He is actively engaged in orthopaedic research serving
as the Chair of the Pinnacle Orthopaedic Research Institute.
He has published and presented scientific articles
at local and national orthopaedic surgery meetings.
His interests include orthopaedic and pharmaceutical
research and he sits on national research committees
involved in hip and knee surgery.
